The Self-Pay Patient book is out on Kindle!

I’ve mentioned a couple of times in the past that I’ve written a book titled The Self-Pay Patient, scheduled to be released soon. Well, soon was yesterday, at least if you have a Kindle or a program that lets you read Kindle e-books! You can obtain it here at for only $7.95 (a bargain, I tell you!).

The book explains in a more comprehensive and detailed way many of the things I’ve been writing about here for the past 4+ months at The Self-Pay Patient blog, plus several things I haven’t gotten to yet including screenings, information for employers, mental health and substance abuse treatment, and other areas. It’s still an easy read though (at least I hope so), with the Kindle version coming in at 102 pages (I’ve discovered that the term ‘pages’ has a much different meaning than in the dead-tree book world), and the paperback containing 128 pages.

I expect to get The Self-Pay Patient book up on iTunes, Nook, and a couple of other e-book places as well in the next several days. I’ll let you all know where to find it at these other sites just as soon as it’s up, first through The Self-Pay Patient’s Facebook page and Twitter feed, and then here at the blog as well. The paperback version is currently at the printer and is scheduled to be available on on January 2, 2014.

I hope you’ll get the book – it really is a different product than the blog, although the topic is obviously the same, and readers will discover that they compliment each other very nicely.

If you get The Self-Pay Patient book and like it, please consider dropping back by Amazon and sharing your thoughts in the reader comments section, that’s one way to help spread the word about the book and how to save money by paying directly for health care. As always I’d appreciate any feedback on the book or the blog, feel free to send me an e-mail at

Congrats on the release of the new book. I hope it is a wild success not just for your sake … but also for the sake of the people who can benefit from it. I haven’t read it yet. But, if it’s anything like your blog, it will be full of golden nuggets of advice and understanding.
